Each Certified Senior Approved Service is pre-screened, in part, by a consumer-driven survey. The survey is mailed to a combination of current and past clients of each business applying for the certification as a Senior Approved Service.
The nature of the questions are designed to reveal the overall standard of ethical business practices, as perceived by the senior citizen client receiving the care and also by the family of the elderly person.

Walnut Creek, CA: Senior Approved Services, a group advocating services that accommodate the requirements of senior citizens, recently named Senior Entertainment Enterprises (SEE), producers of Night To Remember DVD, the short-film musical made specifically to enhance the lives of older Americans, a Senior Advocate.
Senior Entertainment Enterprises’ products fit the needs of the senior citizen market, a group often overlooked and underserved with new entertainment. Their most current DVD, Night To Remember is tailored specifically for senior citizens. Generally for those that are 75+ and/or have a condition that limits their mobility or mental capacity. This population is the most untapped, underserved, underrepresented age group in our country. Currently very little is being done to enrich their lives from a non-medical perspective. We believe that for the highest quality of life a person must be engaged and fulfilled on an emotional and physical level.
We are focusing sales on those who are overseeing the care of senior citizens. This generally is a late boomer who is caring for their aging parent; however, it also includes but not limited to activity directors, nurse, hospice worker, grandchildren and children of senior citizens.
“The Senior Approved Services programs are impressive and being approved as a Senior Advocate was important for Senior Entertainment Enterprises,” says Katie Connett, vice president of Marketing and Brand Development at SEE “The code of ethics we share with Senior Approved Services gives our customers even more assurance that Senior Entertainment Enterprises is a trustworthy and responsible company.”

New entertainment is limited for older Americans. With complex dialogue, long run times and unwholesome storylines, many seniors depend on old films and TV shows to pass their time. While most shows are entertaining few provide entertainment and health benefits. With most Americans spending many hours a week watching TV, having it be pleasurable and profitable would be ideal.
Night To Remember, the short film musical made for senior citizens, is a tribute to the years gone by. It provides seniors with quality entertainment that triggers memory and emotion from the best years of their life. Night To Remember is a romantic, nostalgic, experience they can enjoy over and over again. What Mr. Rogers has done for children; Night to Remember could do for the aging population. Petr Janata, associate professor of Psychology at UC Davis center for Mind and Brain commented in a recent article, “What seems to happen is that a piece of familiar music serves as a soundtrack for a mental movie that starts playing in our head. It calls back memories of a particular person or place, and you might all of a sudden see that person’s face in your minds eye,” he continues, “Memory for autobiographically important music seems to be spared in people with Alzheimer’s.
This film is dialogue-free, simple, wholesome and romantic. Included in each set is a DVD and CD soundtrack and ideas about how to incorporate the DVD into the life of seniors all for only $24.99. With the benefits this film provides and the potential health benefits associated with it, giving it to parents and grandparents is a great option. Why not make this Holiday a Night To Remember?
