Each Certified Senior Approved Service is pre-screened, in part, by a consumer-driven survey. The survey is mailed to a combination of current and past clients of each business applying for the certification as a Senior Approved Service.

The nature of the questions are designed to reveal the overall standard of ethical business practices, as perceived by the senior citizen client receiving the care and also by the family of the elderly person.

In order to successfully receive Certification as a Senior Approved Service each health and elder care business, resource, and/or product proves the following key elements of Social Responsibility by successfully completing the consumer based survey and by agreeing to:

Senior Entertainment Enterprises Named a Senior Advocate by Senior Approved Services

Walnut Creek, CA: Senior Approved Services, a group advocating services that accommodate the requirements of senior citizens, recently named Senior Entertainment Enterprises (SEE), producers of Night To Remember DVD, the short-film musical made specifically to enhance the lives of older Americans, a Senior Advocate.

Senior Entertainment Enterprises’ products fit the needs of the senior citizen market, a group often overlooked and underserved with new entertainment. Their most current DVD, Night To Remember is tailored specifically for senior citizens. Generally for those that are 75+ and/or have a condition that limits their mobility or mental capacity. This population is the most untapped, underserved, underrepresented age group in our country. Currently very little is being done to enrich their lives from a non-medical perspective. We believe that for the highest quality of life a person must be engaged and fulfilled on an emotional and physical level.

We are focusing sales on those who are overseeing the care of senior citizens. This generally is a late boomer who is caring for their aging parent; however, it also includes but not limited to activity directors, nurse, hospice worker, grandchildren and children of senior citizens.

Grandparents

My Grandma is a gift. For as long as I can remember she has been resourceful, clever, creative, hardworking and committed to her work. It is always fun to go over to her house and see the new project she is working on and sit down to catch up. Today I went to my grandma’s house because she has a piece of furniture that she is getting rid of and she thought I might be interested. Having just moved into a new place, I gladly accepted. Upon arrival I was greeted with a smile and hug as always. We started talking and and catching up on our weeks.

During our time together I was able to help her find some things online that she needed, recycle her old ink cartridges, pull somethings down off a high shelf, carry things downstairs and give my 2 cents on a few projects she was working on. All of these things she probably could have done on her own or found someone to help her, but as her granddaughter it was a treasure to be the one to offer a hand. After all the years and time she has invested into my life, who better to lend a hand and return the favor. So the question is, have you given a hand or checked in with one of your treasures? With the holidays coming up, usually we are thankful and helpful for a month or so, but why not start sooner? How about starting now, before it becomes cliche and expected. Just a thought. It might not make a difference to you, but they sure would love to see and hear from you.

Night to Remember DVD
